Never one to shy away from controversial or difficult subjects, Kristin Beauchamp is a filmmaker who understands the power of the camera lens to entertain, educate, and enlighten society. Her current work now in post-production, When Even Angels Wept, tells the story of America's greatest school tragedy, the 1937 school explosion which killed 293 students in New London, Texas. As producer, director, and editor of the feature, her work is the first full-length examination of the event. Ms. Beauchamp's past films include Living and Dying in Huntsville, Texas, which chronicles the death penalty and execution process in Texas through the eyes of those responsible carrying out the ultimate punishment. Another of Ms. Beauchamp's previous works, Race On, Little Bastard, tells the story of the mysterious aftermath of the 1955 car crash that killed actor James Dean. Her academic credentials include a Bachelor of Arts degree in photography/video from St. Edward's University and a Master of Fine Arts degree in film/video from California Institute of the Arts, with a primary area of emphasis in editing.
